• Provide post sales technical support, configurations, troubleshooting, and standard methodologies to customers via phone, e-mail, and web
• Manage support cases to ensure issues are recorded, tracked, resolved, and follow-ups are completed in a timely manner
• Use fault isolation and root cause analysis skills to diagnose and tackle complicated technical issues
• Identify product defects (code, environment) via lab replication using network simulation, lab automation, performance testing, and validation tools
• File bug reports with the engineering team and develop test plans and best practices with Quality Assurance teams to improve overall software quality per release cycle
• Publish Technical Support Bulletins and other technical documentation in the Knowledge Base
• Review of technical documentation for training materials, technical marketing collateral, manuals, troubleshooting guides, etc.
• Travel to customer sites in the event of a critical situation to expedite resolution as required
• Provide on-call support 24x7 on an as-needed basis

Your Experience

Required Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Expertise with LAN/WAN Technologies (TCP, UDP, SNMP, IPv6, VLSM, CIDR, and NAT - Static, Dynamic NAT, and PAT)
• Expertise with Remote Access VPN solutions, IPSEC, PKI & SSL, TCP/IP, multi-factor authentication systems (LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS+, certificates, tokens, CAC cards etc)
• Working knowledge of Security services (IDS/IPS, Firewalls, etc.)
• Experience working with Firewall Central Management Systems
• Strong ability to independently debug broad, complex, and unique networks with mixed media and protocols required
• Willing to work flexible and varying shift times including weekends and evenings

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Technical Support environment is preferred
• Experience working with Virtualization experience (AWS, Azure, VMWare, OpenStack)
• Experience with Windows and MAC OS is a plus (Debugging, Editing Registries, Plist, etc.)
• Experience in Zero Trust Network Access solutions is a plus - AnyConnect, FortiClient, Cloudflare Access, Citrix Gateway, Zscaler Private Access, Cato SASE Cloud, Appgate SDP, Palo Alto Prisma Access

The Team

Our technical support team is critical to our success and mission. As part of this team, you enable customer success by providing support to clients after they have purchased our products. Our dedication to our customers doesn’t stop once they sign – it evolves. As threats and technology change, we stay in step to accomplish our mission.

You’ll be involved in implementing new products, transitioning from old products to new, and will fix integrations and critical issues as they are raised – in fact, you’ll seek them out to ensure our clients are safely supported. We fix and identify technical problems, with a pointed focus of providing the best customer support in the industry.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $94000 - $152000/YR. • Support and lead engineers working on PANW central engineering platform products and services, at different layers of the stack, on challenges related to scalability, reliability, performance, and efficiency of systems
• Understand and contribute to technical architectures, capacity plans, tooling needs, automation plans, product launch plans and create comprehensive plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges
• Drive technical architecture discussions, even on subjects you haven't had direct experience working with
• Develop lasting partnerships with product management, program management, network engineering, software engineering, and other related groups to build and improve our ever-growing large-scale distributed infrastructure and product environment
• Empower engineers to develop their careers, matching their strengths with projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
• Help build and enrich an inclusive work environment comprised of people from diverse backgrounds and globally distributed locations Assess employee performance on an ongoing basis, address under-performance, and recognize and promote performance
• Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team including interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees
• Balance the need to “keep things running” with allocating time to long-term and high-impact projects
• Drive improvement of service lifecycles from inception to delivery including design, deployment, and operations

Required

• 6+ years of direct management experience in a strong technology role
• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience or equivalent military experience required
• Experience with building distributed products, systems, networking, and troubleshooting
• Hands-on experience of building ephemeral environments as a service
• Knowledge of IAC and config management frameworks such as terraform, pulumi, crossplane, ansible and saltstack
• Experience drafting and reviewing code, strong system design skills
• Experience with building teams and/or organizations, including hiring and managing performance
• Experience with developing 1st level managers and organizational strategy
• Communication and cross-collaboration experience

Preferred

• Knowledge of Workflow engine/s such as apache airflow, uber cadence and temporal etc., React/TypeScript, Django, Shell
• Working experience of building scalable CD systems with deeper knowledge of CD tools such as argoCD, fluxCD, jenkins and gitlab
• Experience leading and contributing to large cross-functional projects in a global environment - Experience working on a global team in a matrixed environment

The Team

The cloud-Delivered Security Services(CDSS) team at Palo Alto Networks builds and runs the security services at the heart of preventing threats inside the NGFW and our other XDR and Cloud products.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $186000 - $299000/YR. • Design, plan and verify highly scalable software features
• Participate in architecture, design and validation of App Acceleration features
• Research and implement testing frameworks suited to the solution
• Work with different development and product groups to achieve the best quality
• Suggest and implement improvements to the testing processes
• Work with DevOps and the Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues

Required Qualifications

• At least 15 years of experience in software testing
• Experience with developing and implementing testing frameworks
• Experience with Python and Golang software development
• Experience in frameworks like Playwright / Selenium
• Experience in automating test suites
• Good grasp of scale and performance testing requirements
• Able to troubleshoot system-level integration and performance issues
• Fast learner and eager to absorb new emerging technologies
• Can-do attitude on problem-solving, quality, and ability to execute
• Enjoys working with different teams with strong collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Redis, Influx DB, Elastic Search
• Strong understanding of HTTP 1.1/2.0, TLS and DNS protocols
