• Ensure processes are in place to manage user access, including authorization of system access, and regular validation of access rights, deactivate unused or inactive accounts in a timely manner and maintain account documentation.
• Ensure the use of authentication mechanisms at the highest classification level or cryptographic mechanisms compliant controls are employed to protect systems.
• Separate user functionality from information system management functionality to maintain policy requirements and system security.
• Ensure patches and updates for all software and hardware remain current and compliant with policy and customer standards.
• Ensure all system users receive annual security awareness training, and that role-based training is conducted as necessary.
• Brief users on their responsibilities regarding information system security before granting system access.

Educational Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in Information Security, with a preference for a B.S. in IT or Information Security (or 2 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
• Knowledge of information security engineering, design concepts and principles.
• Recent experience working with a federal customer and NIST, FISMA, and other relevant security frameworks and standards to include STIG compliance.
• Knowledgeable with the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and continuous monitoring methodologies.
• Knowledge of vulnerability assessment tools (NESSUS, STIG Viewer etc.) and analyzing the reports generated from these assessments.
• Must have excellent written communication skills as the candidate's job will include written interaction with senior- level executives and Government customers.

A Brief Overview

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. • Perform cyber incident response or insider threat investigation activities to rapidly remediate threats to United. Use skills and experience to determine when to contain, analyze, perform digital forensics, remediate, and communicate to leadership on cyber threats. Utilize security endpoint, network, log aggregation, and case management systems to accurately document and track progress of cybersecurity incidents. Evaluate risk, escalate external or internal threats, and investigate and analyze incidents and events whenever they may occur on an on-call rotational 24x7 shift basis.
• Analyze and remediate internal and external cyber threats to United
• Evaluate cyber intelligence and coordinate threat hunts
• Communicate threats and remediation efforts to leadership
• Ensure playbooks, case management and process documentation stay current
• Evaluate and implement new tools and processes to improve efficiency

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required
• 3+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, with at least some professional background specific to Incident Response
• Hands on experience in a security operations center or incident response team, with current experience using security tools to detect, contain, and remediate cybersecurity threats.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred Qualifications:

• STEM related degree
• Industry certifications such as the Security+, CISA, GCIH, CFCE, GFCA, and/or GCFE
• Experience supporting large scale incident response activities in a Fortune-100 enterprise.
• Solid knowledge of computer networking, application development, and cyber threat intelligence.

Meet the team:

Dexcom is seeking a Senior Security Engineer with experience in penetration testing and code automation to join our team to help ensure the security of our web applications, cloud infrastructure, and APIs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities in web applications, cloud environments, and APIs, with a focus on assessing and securing against potential threats, in addition to DevSecOps or coding and automation experience such as creating custom tools and integrations. This position will report to the Director Cybersecurity Engineering under the Product Security R&D department. • You will conduct penetration testing on web applications, cloud infrastructure, and APIs to identify and exploit vulnerabilities
• Work closely with development teams to provide recommendations on security best practices
• Develop and execute penetration test plans and reports
• Research and stay current on the latest security threats and tools
• Create custom tools and integrations with coding and automation
• Assist the DevSecOps team with automation and coding integrations

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in penetration testing
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities
• Experience with penetration testing tools such as OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite, and Nmap
• Strong understanding of web technologies such as RESTful APIs, framework based deployments, and backend management
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and Kubernetes
• Strong knowledge of web application security concepts and common vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10)
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices and common misconfigurations
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman or Swagger
• Experience writing and reviewing code in at least 1 of the following languages: Java, Scala, C# or similar

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification
• Experience with mobile application security testing
• Experience or interest with Artificial Intelligence
• Knowledge of hardware, firmware, and wireless technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)
• Certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, OSEP, CPTS, PNPT, INE Certification, SANS
• Experience with red teaming exercises
• Familiarity with threat modeling and risk assessment methodologies
• Experience with DevOps practices and the secure software development lifecycle
