We have an exciting opening to join our team as a remote Senior IT Security Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a deep background in IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity. This role will be pivotal in executing our information security roadmap and ensuring compliance with industry standards and private equity requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems administration, cloud infrastructure, and security principles, with a particular focus on developing and implementing security solutions across various platforms. This individual will work closely with the Director of Information Security and architecture teams to translate high-level security requirements into actionable implementation plans, ensuring our systems are secure, compliant, and resilient. At this time, US Anesthesia Partners does not hire candidates residing in New York, California, Hawaii, or Alaska.

Responsibilities

  • Security Roadmap Execution: Collaborate with the Director of Information Security to understand, develop, and execute the information security roadmap. Provide guidance on scoping and prioritization of security initiatives.
  • Systems Administration & Infrastructure: Manage and monitor server systems, including Windows, Linux, and virtualized environments. Ensure infrastructure security through regular updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Cloud & Network Security: Oversee security for cloud environments, particularly Azure and Microsoft 365 services, ensuring configurations meet best practices and compliance standards.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with relevant standards (SOC 2, HiTrust, NIST, HIPAA, PCI, etc.). Respond to audit requests and RFPs, and remediate infrastructure areas to meet certification requirements.
  • Architecture Collaboration: Partner with architecture teams to translate high-level security requirements into detailed implementation plans. Ensure security considerations are integrated into network, cloud, and application architecture.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage Veeam backup solutions, focusing on secure data integrity and business continuity in line with security requirements.
  • Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for automation of security and infrastructure tasks using PowerShell and other relevant tools.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up and maintain monitoring systems to ensure security performance and availability. Lead the response to infrastructure security incidents.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security infrastructure, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on security metrics, system performance, and compliance status.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a similar role, with a strong focus on security.
  • Deep knowledge of network protocols, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Extensive experience with server administration, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and Azure cloud services.
  • Proven experience in managing security compliance standards (SOC 2, HiTrust, NIST, HIPAA, PCI, etc.).
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, with a focus on security automation.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to infrastructure security.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple security projects and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with security architecture design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) security.
  • Experience in responding to security audits and managing security aspects of RFPs.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment is a plus.
