Summary and company overview

The Identity & Access Management (IAM) teams are responsible for building highly available, and highly flexible platforms and products helping our customers control access to their data. The team’s systems sit on the critical path for other products in Datadog, and our functionality directly serves Datadog’s largest customers.

As the Engineering Manager II for IAM, you will manage multiple teams of Software Engineers and Managers. The teams are focused on identity and access management capabilities and experiences across all Datadog products, as well as our user and account management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor multiple teams of engineers with a diverse skill-set, including performance management and career development
  • Manage and coach multiple engineering managers, helping them manage their teams and grow in their roles
  • Identify the highest impact initiatives and ensure that the team is focused on delivering those on clear timelines
  • Work closely with Product Managers to understand the current gaps across Datadog’s IAM offerings blocking customer adoption
  • Ensure operational excellence and adherence to SLOs
  • Collaborate cross functionally with other Datadog product and platform teams to enable cross product features and align the roadmap with Datadog’s goals

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent professional experience
  • You have managed multiple teams of software engineers and multiple managers for at least 1+ years
  • You have significant experience in backend programming and have architected, built, and operated large systems to solve problems at scale, particularly for enterprise-level customers with complex environments
  • You are skilled in cross-functional collaboration and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • You are a strategic thinker with a track record of translating complex technical problems into actionable plans
