IT Security Analyst

The IT Security Analyst role ensures the secure operations of the in-house and cloud computer systems, servers, and network connections. This includes analyzing server and firewall logs, scrutinizing network traffic, establishing and updating virus scans, and troubleshooting. This position will also analyze and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and conduct user activity audits where required. In addition, the IT security analyst will develop and maintain the organization's disaster recovery(DR) plan in case of an emergency. The DR Plan includes how data is stored and backed up and how the organization can restore its network to proper function after a disaster or emergency.

Schedule

Generally Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm (40 hours/week), On-Call

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in MIS, computer science, or related information technology field and 2 years information technology security experience
  • One of more of the following certifications:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • GIAC Information Security Fundamentals
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator: Security
  • Associate of (ISC)2
  • Broad hands-on knowledge of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other industry-standard techniques and practices
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network administration/protocols
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent Customer relations skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Security and Privacy regulations
  • Experience in Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications
  • Familiar with the JCAHO survey process and the components within the regulations associated with Information management
