The Identity Access Manager (IAM) role at Visual Comfort & Co

The Identity Access Manager (IAM) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the access rights of users within an organization’s information technology systems. This role involves ensuring that users have the appropriate level of access to systems and data based on their roles and responsibilities. The IDM will also play a key role in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access. They will be heavily involved in monitoring access logs, conducting audits, and responding to security incidents to safeguard Visual Comfort & Co’s digital assets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement identity and access management (IAM) strategies, processes and policies
  • Oversee user access provisioning and deprovisioning (boarding/terminating)
  • Manage user roles and permissions within VCC systems to ensure appropriate access levels are maintained
  • Monitor and auditing access controls to detect and respond to unauthorized access attempts and poor controls that may be in place
  • Implement multi-factor authentication and other security measures to enhance access security
  • Collaborate with VCC IT Teams to perform access risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide user training and support for access management based on best practices and procedures.
  • Keep current on industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to IDM.
  • Participate in Incident management, investigations and responses related to access control breaches.
  • Work the VCC C-Suite and the IT Senior leadership team in corporate strategies, initiatives, projects
  • Be a part of new VCC mergers and acquisitions
  • Support security policies and procedures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure and data.
  • Track and remediate technical debt in the support organization.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure the organization's IT infrastructure is secure and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of the organization's security program.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management to communicate security posture and risks.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP and/or CISM
  • At least five years of experience in IT IAM, preferably in a large organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data security
  • Project management experience including leading work activities
  • Strong knowledge of security technologies, such as Azure cloud, firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools.
  • Experience in developing and implementing security policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, including communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and also in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours when required.

Additional commentary

Compensation Range: $115,000 -$120,000
