Your Career

Palo Alto Networks NGFW (Next Generation Firewall) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished QA/Automation engineer with experience in validating core networking & security features in the QA team. You will be part of a world-class software test engineering team that works on various ground-breaking technologies (Cloud Identity, Data Loss Prevention, Post quantum cryptography, IoT Security etc) in the Layer 4-7 domain. You will work with a multi-functional team of engineers solving interesting problems in the area of L4-7 security.

Your Impact

  • Work in a small and fast paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver most impactful results
  • Contribute in all phases of end to end product and solution validation
  • Work with different development and quality assurances groups to achieve the best quality
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the QA process
  • Work with DevOps and the Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues
  • Interview, mentor and coach new team members

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree (BS or MS) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline or equivalent military experience required
  • 10+ years of Experience in QA Automation Engineering
  • Strong automation/programming experience in Python
  • Working knowledge and experience with TCP/IP, application layer protocols (HTTP/HTTPS/SMTP etc)
  • Hands on experience testing network and/or other security products
  • Experience with various Linux platform testing & troubleshooting tools
  • Be able to build and maintain complex networking testbeds
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent QA skills employing test frameworks, commercial test sets, home grown tools, automated testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GCP, AWS or other cloud infra, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $144,200/yr to $233,200/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.

  • As an Enterprise Solutions Architect Team member you will be asked to work with a variety of accounts where you must lead very skilled engineering staff of our customers.
  • You may also get involved in diving in to help isolate major performance issues and/or provide solutions in mitigating performance problems within large environments.
  • You will work with our product engineering teams to ensure any functional gaps and opportunities for improvement are clearly articulated and managed between our accounts and our engineering team.
  • Our team members regularly get involved in hands on solutioning both for our own purposes of working smarter not harder or to assist in the implementation of deployments or solutions at the customer.
  • Our joint team of highly experienced ESAs are periodically found solutioning in C#, Java, SQL, NodeJS, JavaScript, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform and many more.
  • To be part of the team means contributing a history of both high-level consulting to rolling the sleeves up and contributing in code either for the team or the customer.
  • The Enterprise Solution Architect is a combination of an infrastructure, automation expert, coder, trusted advisor and cloud services authority who will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of our monitoring solutions executed through a well-defined, repeatable services engagement model.
  • Our ESA team members perform most of their responsibilities remotely at a home office and will have moderate to minimal travel from time to time.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required or additional 10 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • 12+ years of real world experience in software and/or solution engineering
  • 5+ years experience leading and consulting in large Enterprise/Corporate environments a must

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior Experience using Dynatrace or managing APM solutions a major plus
  • Solid understanding of a variety of Cloud technologies and offerings such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud with at least expertise and/or certification in one while having an aptitude and appetite to learn others quickly.
  • Solid understanding of network topologies, routing, network security, security protocols, routing, load balancers and capacity planning
  • Solid understanding of a Container based solutions using Kubernetes and similar products. Service mesh experience a plus.
  • Outstanding communicator and writing skills a must with the ability to consult and lead multi-day meetings to assess technologies and processes.
  • Solid understanding of Application and/or Infrastructure Monitoring & Observability
  • Develop automation and repeatable processes/scripts to enable solutions that deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor Client applications is a plus
  • Solid understanding of solutions using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, GoCD, Jenkins, TFS and similar products.
  • Solid understanding of PaaS concepts and implementations such as Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, BlueMix or similar offerings.
  • At least 7+ years of prior development experience in at least one object-oriented language. Solid understanding of byte-code based runtimes, i.e. Java, .NET

Compensation and Rewards

  • The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $205,000. When determining your salary, we consider your experience, skills, education, and work location.

Compliance Analyst II - Governance, Risk and Compliance

About the Role

We are looking for a cloud and DevOps savvy GRC Compliance Analyst II to support compliance enablement across HashiCorp product lines. This role involves embedding within the day-to-day of HashiCorp product lines to enable compliance by providing real-time readiness evaluation, control scoping, and the ability to advise on remediation of gaps, if applicable, to ensure products meet compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed compliance controls into agile and DevOps processes, providing continuous guidance and oversight throughout the product development lifecycle. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can seamlessly drive efforts across multiple projects, working with various stakeholders.

Security at Hashicorp is a remote team. While prior experience working remotely isn’t required, we are looking for team members who can perform well given a high level of independence and autonomy.

  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate security and compliance requirements into the product lifecycle, ensuring that all products are built with compliance in mind from the ground up.
  • Conduct real-time readiness assessments of products and features during development, identifying potential compliance risks and providing actionable recommendations to address gaps.
  • Define the scope of compliance controls and requirements for new and existing products, ensuring that all relevant aspects of the product are covered.
  • Provide ongoing guidance to product teams on security controls and industry best practices, helping them navigate complex compliance landscapes.
  • Leverage your technical expertise and deep understanding of the product to effectively collaborate with the rest of the GRC team, ensuring alignment and accuracy of understanding during audits. Lead internal and external audits related to product compliance, ensuring that all documentation and controls are in place and up to date.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and engineers, to embed security controls into development and operational processes.
  • Help develop and deliver training on security and compliance requirements and control owner responsibilities.
  • Identify assets utilized in the services/products that impact compliance (cloud accounts, repositories, Github teams, etc.) and ensure they are documented in the scope/boundaries of the compliance program including updates, removals and additions.
  • Assisting with internal audits, control testing and external audits
  • Work with Engineering teams to identify automation opportunities of manual tasks, such as continuous monitor of controls and audit evidence collection
  • Support other GRC work as required

Must have qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related professional compliance and controls program experience
  • Previous experience in a cloud environment, preferably AWS and/or Azure
  • Experience with modern DevOps patterns and practices, with a strong understanding of how to embed security controls into these processes.
  • Advanced level knowledge either controls and control frameworks
  • Comfortable working with both deeply technical and non-technical resources
  • Flexible in daily hours (e.g. willingness to work longer hours during end of quarter, peak periods, and audit)
  • Highly responsive
  • Ability to prioritize and track multiple projects and tasks in parallel
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and provide clear guidance on complex compliance issues.

  • Experience working in a large, multi-cloud environment
  • Deep understanding of common security compliance frameworks, attestations and certifications
