HackerOne is seeking a Data Engineer III, DataOne, to lead the discovery, architecture, and development of high-performance, scalable data products and solutions. Joining HackerOne’s growing, distributed organization, you'll be instrumental in building the foundation that powers our lakehouse architecture and scales our cutting-edge AI.

  • Deliver impact by consistently contributing high-quality, high-impact code, and by leading and delivering cross-functional product and technical initiatives.
  • Contribute to highly complex design processes, balance competing priorities, and adapt to shifting business objectives.
  • Support continuous evolution and innovation within the DataOne codebase and engineering processes.
  • Champion a higher bar for discoverability, usability, reliability, timeliness, consistency, validity, uniqueness, simplicity, completeness, integrity, security, and compliance of information and insights across the company.
  • Offer subject matter expertise while helping to build a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience as a Software Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role w/ proven track record of developing data frameworks (preferably using Python).
  • 4+ years of building and optimizing data pipelines, products, and solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data manipulation in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong proficiency in working with various data technologies and tools such as Airflow, Snowflake, Meltano, Fivetran, DBT, AWS, and Looker.
  • Strong programming skills, knowledge of algorithms, and data structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • US EST and CST time zones.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Passion for working backwards from the Customer and empathy for business stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, and can present data-driven narratives in verbal, presentation, and written formats.
  • Experience working with Agile and iterative development processes.
  • Your first day will start with a warm welcome and technical onboarding!
  • Your first 30 days will focus on getting to know HackerOne. You will join your new squad and begin onboarding - learn our technology stack (Python, Airflow, Snowflake, DBT, Meltano, Fivetran, Looker Cloud, AWS), and meet our Hackeronies.
  • Within 60 days, you will deliver impact on a department level with consistent contribution of high-quality, high-impact code.
  • Within 90 days, you will contribute to the continuous evolution and innovation of data at HackerOne. Additionally, you lean into cross-departmental collaboration to enhance these efforts.

Position Summary

HackerOne is seeking a hands-on, mission-driven Product Manager to lead the development of our data products capabilities. With the leading platform of customer security programs and vulnerabilities discovered in both breadth and depth, HackerOne is uniquely advantaged to provide unparalleled security insights to its customers. This is an opportunity to develop data products for customers that provide an unmatched level of intelligence by deriving insight from the vast amount of security data.

This is a remote position located in the United States that reports to the product Co-Founder. It is a unique opportunity for a data-obsessed, technically savvy, and self-motivated product manager who is passionate about successful delivery and product growth.

  • Lead HackerOne data products development with a strategic perspective across all cross-functional facets of the business necessary to bring unique security insights to customers based on HackerOne’s vast vulnerability datasets.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with customers and post-sales operations to determine and deliver on data products strategy, vision, and roadmap.
  • Refine and mature existing data products, such as Analytics and Reporting, Benchmarks, and Recommendations.
  • Execute the product lifecycle from ideation to GTM and bring net new data capabilities into the hands of customers.
  • Develop and apply expertise in security analytics and vulnerability management to create product experiences that customers and hackers love in collaboration with engineers, designers, and CSMs.
  • Evangelize the value of HackerOne’s data-powered security insights internally and externally as a subject matter expert via customer and prospect calls, product demos, webinars, and roadmap briefings.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, emerging technologies like AI and ML, and competitive developments to identify opportunities for disruptive innovation and position HackerOne as a market leader.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in Product Management in high-growth tech/SaaS companies.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing products in high-growth businesses involving in-depth cross-functional collaboration and leadership across R&D and go-to-market.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to identifying problems, determining potential solutions and building consensus around your vision with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience bringing to market products and features that leverage ML and AI technologies.
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity technologies and market trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Domain experience with security research/hacking as part of red teaming, penetration testing and/or bug bounty programs, including methods, tools and types of testing.
  • Expertise in high growth approaches to product discovery, planning and development processes and tools, particularly in a cloud-based SaaS delivery model involving comprehension of the full scope development challenges and planning, including service availability, COGS and multi-product platformization.
  • Demonstrated data-driven, highly analytical problem solving delivering thoughtful solutions that delight users.
