Summary Information About the Role and Company Overview

A Level II Engineer is an individual who can operate independently and will be entrusted with delivering success for Optiv + ClearShark’s customers to achieve predetermined goals aligned with a statement of work. To be successful in this role, a Level II Engineer will be expected to specialize in a capability aligned with Optiv + ClearShark’s service practices while also contemplating which future opportunities they would like to explore. They will be expected to execute all tasks provided in a statement of work in a timely fashion and to communicate any unexpected complexities that may arise to senior leadership. This individual may be the most senior engineer on a project and will be expected to assist Associate and Level I Engineers with tasking. Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, as these individuals will interact with clients regularly.

  • Have an advanced understanding of the chief technologies they will be responsible for.
  • Have an initial understanding of major technologies that will surround the chief technology in their environment.
  • Possess the ability to make sense of complex information to effectively solve problems, reaching out to mentors for guidance when necessary and providing mentoring to Associate and Level I Engineers who may require it.
  • Spend 5% of their time focusing on developing corporate strategy, assisting with brand identity, and support operations.
  • Spend 10% of their time focusing on training and fine-tuning skills.

  • Execute all tasks outlined in the scope of work and follow standard operating procedures with minimal oversight.
  • Work with clients to analyze and understand their needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Senior Engineers on more complex engagements.
  • Aid Associate and Level I Engineers on sophisticated tasking.
  • Prepare to lead technical discussions with the client in the event a Senior Engineer is not present on an engagement.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during and after project implementation.
  • Serve as a level of mentorship for Associate and Level I Engineers.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams or engineers as necessary.
  • Document project progress, issues, and resolutions in a concise and timely manner.
  • Consistently self-review work to identify and improve approaches for producing high-quality work.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently holds a Top Secret clearance – TS/SCI with a full-scope poly required.
  • Experience operating in classified environments.
  • Expert knowledge and experience deploying and maintaining Palo Alto Network products (NGFW, Panorama, Global Protect, Prisma Access)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area or at least 8 years of related work experience.
  • Extensive IP network routing and switching experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • PCNSE certification preferred.
  • CCNP or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience managing and configuring Kubernetes, Linux, and Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of governance and compliance, specifically with FAR, DFARs, CUI and CMMC.
  • Broad understanding of FedRAMP and IL constructs.
  • Strong understanding of leadership concepts and ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Experience leading an engineering team, preferably having handled tasking, resolving personnel issues, and providing actionable feedback.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of SaaS-based architectures, ideally in a networking and/or security industry - SASE technology is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience selling complex solutions, value selling, and/or consultative sales techniques
  • Technical aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems
  • Identifies problems, reviews data, determines the root causes, and provides scalable solutions
  • Cultivate relationships with our channel partners to bring channel-centric go-to-market approach for our customers
  • Demonstrates in depth knowledge of the full sales cycle and the ability to follow a structured sales process
  • Ability to take a holistic approach to problem solving by understanding the bigger picture, and considering complex interrelationships and outcomes

Your Experience

  • Solid CS fundamentals, as well as networking and operating systems knowledge

  • Experience of any public cloud platform, GCP preferred
  • Experience of data processing tools such as Apache Beam, BigQuery, Dataflow
  • Experience with SQL and No-SQL DB technologies such as MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redis Experience with queuing systems like PubSub,RabbitMQ or Kafka
  • BS/MS/PHD in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent military experience required

**Compensation Disclosure **

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $124600 - $201650/YR.
