Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Chief Information Officer and dotted-line to the Executive Vice President, Chief Compliance and Risk Officer for certain purposes.
  • Regularly report to Harris Health's Chief Executive Officer and Board of Trustees regarding Information Security matters.
  • Oversee the development and enforcement of policies and strategies for cyber threat protection.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA/HITECH.
  • Direct the overall planning and execution of enterprise security systems.
  • Utilize operational and tactical expertise to manage security teams.
  • Enable business functions while adhering to corporate security policies.
  • Champion a secure and adaptable operating business environment.
  • Assume accountability for daily tactical operations and strategic execution of security teams.
  • Lead a team of security professionals through corporate obligations and defenses.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) highly preferred
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) OR Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO)
  • Fifteen (15) years of professional experience in Cyber/Information Security, designing and implementing enterprise Cyber/Information Security solutions.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive management experience in HIPAA Security Regulation and Cyber/Information Privacy and Security laws.
  • Above Average Verbal Communication Skills (Heavy Public Contact), Writing/Correspondence, Writing/Reports
  • Expert technical knowledge of Cyber/Information Security, infrastructure, network, server, workstation, and security related technologies both software and hardware.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare and/or Federal government experience in cybersecurity.
  • Strong knowledge of security design associated with various technologies including network, server, desktop, storage, and medical security.

  • The CISO champions a flexible, highly adaptable, and secure operating business environment.
  • Work Schedule: TX residency required. This role is hybrid and requires frequent onsite presence.
