Job Title: Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Overview:

The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer will provide Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity expertise to facilitate the planning, development, implementation, and documentation of technical security solutions for tactical software and information systems throughout the product development lifecycle. The Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for providing customers with DoD and Army guidance and assistance in the secure configuration, documentation, and authorization of the customer software applications, systems, and networks.

The candidate will operate primarily out of the TIPC Torch facility, while supporting the System Readiness Directorate (SRD) in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical evaluations of software requirements and software assurance methodologies
  • Work with functional teams to implement, maintain, and monitor technical security controls, to include: STIGs, SRGs, and/or other industry security hardening guidance.
  • Review proposed code, configuration, and system design changes for security impact and collaborate with configuration management team for the configuration approval or denial of change requests.
  • Validate technical security controls are in place for operating systems, software applications, and network appliances, and recommend enhancements.
  • Analyze, track, and document static code analysis scan results, along with remediation and mitigations
  • Generate and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization documentation; i.e., diagrams (logical and physical) Hardware/Software/Firmware Inventory, acquisition documentation, Interface & Ports, Protocols, and Services listing, System Security Plan (SSP) and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) etc.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of DoD and Army information system (IS) functions, security policies, technical security safeguards/countermeasures, and intelligence threats.

Job Requirements

Experience Requirements:

General

  • 10-15 years of experience with Information Technology (IT) equipment, including multiple Operating Systems (OSs), and tactical platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of US Government Cybersecurity/IA policies and procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for working within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of eMASS, ACAS, DISA STIGS and relevant STIG-Tools.
  • Candidates must comply with the experience, training, and certification requirements IAW DoD 8570.01 and DoDD 8140.01 IAT level II or IAM level II/III.

Preferred:

  • Direct Experience with Cybersecurity integration on Army aviation platforms.
  • Direct experience with software assurance and static code analysis toolsets.
  • Direct experience with the Army Assess Only Authorization To Operate (ATO) process.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Security, Cybersecurity, and Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications

Many employees are authorized to work additional hours within a normal, forty-hour pay period. This approval is included in the employee's offer letter for employment.
