Job Description:

We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our engineering team to assist with completing a data centre project on schedule while also supporting day-to-day operational tasks. This role is critical to ensuring our security infrastructure meets company requirements and operates smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Project Support: Assist the engineering team in completing a critical data center project on schedule while also supporting daily operational tasks.
  • Security Appliance Deployment: Deploy and configure FireEye NX appliances and Symantec DLP detection servers to meet company requirements and industry standards.
  • Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to assemble and document all technical requirements for project and operational tasks.
  • Task Management: Develop and manage detailed task lists, ensuring all tasks are prioritized and completed on time.
  • Service Request Creation: Create comprehensive technical service requests, ensuring all details are accurate and complete.
  • Validation and Compliance: Verify that all tasks and service requests are executed correctly, providing artifacts and documentation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Status Reporting: Provide regular, detailed status updates to the direct leader, project manager, senior engineer, and other engineering team members.
  • Independent Contributor: Work autonomously, demonstrating strong self-motivation and the ability to drive tasks to completion without constant oversight.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team and other departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of security systems.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear and thorough documentation of all processes, tasks, and outcomes to support project transparency and operational continuity.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced hands-on experience reading, interpreting, creating, and editing technical network and system design and operational procedure documents.
  • Advanced hands-on experience installing, configuring, upgrading, backing up, and restoring FireEye Network Security (NX) appliances.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues.
  • Experience actively participating in engineering design and project management meetings to ensure requirements are defined, fulfilled, documented, and accurately reported.
  • Experience installing and configuring Symantec DLP detection applications on Windows OS servers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ITSM solutions like ServiceNow.
  • Experience writing queries in Sumo Logic to identify and resolve technical issues in logs.
  • Experience integrating FireEye security alert and audit logs into a SIEM and centralized log archive.
