We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Network Security Engineer who possesses an in-depth knowledge of cyber security services and understands the technological solutions successful businesses are seeking. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patching critical infrastructure (including VM environments, firewalls, switches, and routers), implementing and managing cybersecurity measures, and monitoring network security using tools like Blumira and Sentinel One. Regular security assessments and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential. Additionally, staying up-to-date with cybersecurity trends and maintaining thorough documentation are key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Working regularly scheduled after hours maintenance windows to deploy security patches
  • Setting and keeping a patching schedule
  • Resolving zero-day vulnerabilities
  • Monitoring all security alerts through various tools
  • Working with the networking team to identify vulnerabilities
  • Taking ownership of the cyber security architecture
  • Complete and concise documentation of all work performed in all ticketing and related documentation systems
  • Executive summary reports of cyber hygiene
  • Developing, improving, and deploying policies and procedures for cyber threats
  • Running detailed reports for Federal Compliances
  • Working Knowledge of Azure AD and proper security configurations
  • Auditing and administration of all privileged access systems
  • Maintaining knowledge of cybersecurity trends

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a cybersecurity or network security engineer role.
  • Self-Starter.
  • Knowledge of network protocols.
  • Proficiency in network monitoring and security tools.
  • Familiarity with VPNs, VLANs, and other network technologies.
  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and mitigation strategies.
  • General understanding of Linux-based systems and CLI's (Redhat/Rocky, Ubuntu).
  • Experience in testing and deploying software updates and patches for cybersecurity compliance.
  • Working Knowledge of Zero Trust Network Architecture and OSPF routing protocol.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CCNA-Security, CCNP-Security, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
