Under general direction, the IT Security Specialist evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal data controls, business and technical processes, and the performance of the organization's technology platforms to ensure the integrity of the organization's systems and data. This role involves performing security and integrity reviews of the organization's data and IT systems, developing and implementing comprehensive audit programs and policies for the use and control of sensitive data, and consulting with managers on actions and precautions to be taken. The IT Security Specialist also evaluates vendor-supplied software and networking plans, and leads and participates in the IT department's development of software and system network strategies for security analysis and audit compliance.
