The Technology Director (BISO/TISO) will be a senior level position working across cybersecurity leadership to drive cyber initiatives within multiple CIO teams and the lines of business. This hands-on leadership role will serve as an extension of the Cybersecurity leadership domain SMEs and will partner closely with the CIO teams (as the main stakeholder) working diligently to mitigate cyber risk throughout strategic, tactical and operational levels. The BISO/TISO provides strategic-level consultation to the business, technology and risk executives regarding long- and short-range information security risk requirements and recommends security innovations that anticipate future directions of both the major business groups and information technology. The BISO plays a key role in driving down cyber risk at the bank within their assigned areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of security professionals through hands-on leadership, partnership and insight
  • Provide cyber context to business issues, and provide business and CIO perspective back to Cybersecurity
  • Proactively manage and own the cybersecurity posture for the CIO teams and lines of business
  • Represent each Cyber domain through deep understanding of cybersecurity, cyber risks, priorities and initiatives
  • Serve the cybersecurity needs of the CIO teams through proactively anticipating risks, and proactively providing solutions to address challenges
  • Consistently demonstrate a hands-on approach, proactive engagement, diligent and focused on delivering commitments aligned to cyber strategic, tactical and operational priorities, and bi-directionally with the lines of business and CIO teams
  • Serve as an extension of the CISO for the CIO teams and lines of business
  • Apply a deep understanding of cybersecurity domains
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for continuous cyber risk based improvement
  • Set risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Collaborate and influence throughout all levels including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface across first, second and third line, as well as potentially external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage capacity of workload across team
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
  • Drive bidirectional strategy development and implementation
  • Proactively partner with Risk and Technology leaders and their teams on information security related matters
  • Proactively provide strategic consultation to business, technology and risk leadership regarding long- and short-range information security risk/requirements and recommends security innovations that anticipate the future direction of the aligned business and technology
  • Drive the cyber posture within the CIO team and line of business for monitoring, reporting and tracking of cyber risks, initiatives, exceptions, and multiple areas related to the cyber posture and program; provides cyber perspective to the business, and feedback to the Cybersecurity domains
  • Drive a collaborative environment that ensures timely communication and strong cooperation between Information Security and the lines of business
  • Drive the development of information security risk culture within the business and ensures staffing is adequate with appropriate resources

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of technology leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 10+ years of Management experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or MBA from top rated school
  • MBA degree with concentration in Finance or Technology or Masters Degree in Business/Cybersecurity
  • 1+ years of experience as Chief Information Security Officer
  • 15+ years of leadership or management experience, in a technology environment
  • 10+ years Cybersecurity and risk management experience
  • 10+ years of managing managers
  • A high level of comfort working with ambiguity or uncertainty and converting information into quantifiable concepts
  • Strong executive presence, the ability to interact and communicate with C-level executives and regulators
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to manage numerous, competing demands from internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills within a complex, matrixed environment; able to gain support and cooperation and build effective business partnerships
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and broker agreements amongst diverse, differing, competing, and/or conflicting perspectives/priorities
  • Finance sector security experience or other regulated industry (e.g. utilities, health care, government)

  • Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
  • $207,900.00 - $431,900.00
