We want to find an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Lead Network Security Operations Center Engineer for our Security department. This position can be located in Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, or Syracuse, NY (candidates may also reside in either Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine). This position will on occasion require you to field a call off hours. Along with your UK counterpart, it will be your responsibility to manage on-call resources, including yourself being available, as necessary. Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance in operating, maintaining, and enhancing Network Security capabilities
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for NSOC Engineers, including providing support during on-call rotations.
  • Engage effectively with key stakeholders to ensure that the services supported by the NSOC meet customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Create and present regular performance reports to the Senior Leadership team.
  • Mentor junior team members to support their professional development
  • Lead problem management initiatives to identify key trends and execute remediation plans for recurring incidents.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in Cyber Security related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with security technologies, including Palo Alto and Cisco ASA
  • Extensive experience in leading and responding to incidents and change activities in a large enterprise environment.
  • Strong experience maintaining, troubleshooting, supporting, and optimizing network security capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and infrastructure designs, including cloud infrastructures, routing, firewall functionality, host and network intrusion detection systems, encryption, load balancing, and other network devices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • The following certifications would be a plus: - Cisco CCIE Security, Checkpoint CCSE/CCSM, Palo Alto PCNSE, F5 201/401 and Zscaler ZDTA/ZTCA

Our organization follows a hybrid work structure in our service territory (NY & MA and adjacent states) where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed. Salary

Dowstate NY $152,000 - $179,000 a year

Massachusetts $142,000 - $167,000 a year

Upstate NY $127,000 - $149,000 a year

Salary is commensurate with experience and location

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
